This is the intro we wish we’d been given upon moving here: an insider’s practical tips on food, drinks, safety, transit, going out, the vibe of the city, and thoughtful talk about homelessness and modern issues of the city.

Haunted SF

Our most eerie experience. A macabre and murderous tour through the hotels and streets of downtown and the Tenderloin.

Not “just a ghost tour,” this after-dark journey includes tales of unexplained deaths, scandalous murders, ruthless cult leaders, the old red light district, famed spirits, serial killers, assassins and more.

Cocktail Pub Crawl

A romp through our city’s history, as told over the drinks that define it. Sip our favorite cocktails, historic Gold Rush beer, the bitter spirit that locals love, and visit storied pubs that make our city what it is.

Great for loosening up teammates and bonding with silly games, fun challenges and inspiring stories of our city!

The Mission

The coolest neighborhood in town is a cultural battlefield–a do-it-yourself story with street art, independent shops, unwavering murals, innovative restaurants, radical activism, Latino heritage and the oldest history in the Bay.

The Castro

In 1970’s San Francisco, America listened as gay rights activists demanded equality. The Castro was ground zero for this civil rights movement, led by the charismatic and passionate Harvey Milk. Learn about how the Castro became America’s first “gayborhood,” a colorful and magical place for all who identify as LGBTQQIAAPT (don’t worry, we’ll explain).

Downtown

Learn the stories that made the city. Our Downtown tour is the best introduction to San Francisco’s past, from Gold Rush origins to cable car days, then the Great Earthquake’s destruction and our phoenix-like rebirth into a modern city. Hear of the eccentrics who defined the rise of San Francisco, and what the city represents today.

Chinatown

A people’s history of Chinatown. Discover tales of revolutionary leaders, the Great Earthquake of 1906, bizarre architecture, fortune cookies. community and resilience in a neighborhood often visited, yet rarely understood.

This is much more than a peek at Chinese-American history, but a journey through San Francisco’s oldest living community and a portal into its founding days. Tales of Captain Montgomery and the USS Portsmouth’s arrival, Samuel Brannan kicking off a Gold Rush, how the Chinese-built railways put the city on the map, and the sights, smells and tastes that define this living museum.

North Beach

The North Beach tour unfolds the story of the Beatnik poets, Italian fishermen, drag queens, artists, gold diggers, Latin jazz stars and all those who have called Little Italy home. You’ll see the classic pizzerias, cafés, radical bookstores, public parks, statues and churches that helped define one of America’s most beloved neighborhoods.

The guide brings the Beats to life with poetry readings outside of City Lights Bookstore. We’ll learn about the Transamerica Pyramid, Francis Ford Coppola, the famous Green Street Mortuary marching band, sample Tony’s world-famous pizza, and see Washington Square, with epic views of Coit Tower and Saints Peter and Paul’s cathedral.

Haight-Ashbury

Armed with a mini-guitar, your witty troubadour and historian-guide shares tales of Janis Joplin, the Grateful Dead, Hell’s Angels, the Diggers, Ken Kesey’s Acid Tests, the Summer of Love, and the psychedelic substances that rocked a conservative America into a technicolor wonderland.
